SmartToolkit Privacy Policy

Your privacy is fundamental to our architecture. This document outlines how we treat information, our in-browser computation model, and our advertising partnerships.

1. Our In-Browser Zero-Storage Architecture

Unlike conventional web tools that upload user files or text to a remote backend server for processing, SmartToolkit runs exclusively client-side in your web browser. This includes, without limitation:

  • Images uploaded to the Image Compressor, Resizer, or Converter.
  • Text pasted into the Word Counter, Case Converter, Line Deduper, or JSON Formatter.
  • Numbers entered into the Salary Tax, Zakat, Loan, EMI, or Compound Interest calculators.
  • Passwords or UUIDs generated by our client-side cryptography algorithms.

None of these data points are transmitted across the internet to our servers. Processing occurs inside your device's memory and is discarded when you close or refresh the tab.

2. Advertising and Google AdSense

To keep our tools free and accessible for everyone without subscription fees, SmartToolkit works with third-party advertising vendors, including Google AdSense.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info.

3. Analytics and Performance Metrics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect aggregated, non-personally identifiable metrics such as browser type, general geographical region, page load speed, and popular site pathways. We enable IP anonymization on all telemetry. We do not correlate analytics data with personal identities.

4. LocalStorage & Cookies

We use web browser local storage strictly for functional preferences:

  • smarttoolkit_theme: Remembers whether you selected dark or light mode.
  • smarttoolkit_cookie_consent: Remembers whether you accepted or rejected non-essential tracking cookies.

You can clear your local storage and cookies at any time through your browser settings.
